MOTEK 2009 Sharpens the Competitive Edge!
Investment decisions regarding production and assembly streamlining cannot be delayed. The 28th MOTEK at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre from 21 through 24 September 2009 will point the way in this regard by offering comprehensive presentations and information on the newest, highly promising equipment.
To an ever greater extent, the 28th MOTEK international trade fair for handling and assembly technology is playing a key role within the industry sector, because the way to future capabilities for manufacturing companies will not be paved tomorrow or next week, but rather right now. And in the age of globalised production no one can escape the fact that the competition is getting tougher every day, and new challenges are cropping up continuously. These factors can only be countered with an appropriate, rationally determined degree of automation, for which reason the number of robots and handling systems will grow dramatically in the areas of production automation, assembly, distribution, order picking and packaging.
The Robots are Coming – and They Need a Periphery!
But this illuminates only one side of the coin, because robots are not ready for action until they’re furnished with grippers, machine vision, image processing, handling and material flow peripherals. For this reason, MOTEK concentrates on all fields of endeavour which are relevant for rationalisation through automation, and not just on robotics. An isolated examination makes no sense at all, as opposed to a complete representation of process and system solutions!
MOTEK – Components, Subsystems, Complete Solutions
According to the IFR Statistical Department, 18 million robots will be in use all over the world by the year 2011, compared with roughly 7 million in 2008 including 6 million industrial and 1 million so-called service robots. As a logical consequence, requirements for gripping, handling and material flow peripherals are also increasing proportionately, for which reason MOTEK continues on the right track with its internationally unique portfolio. Manufacturers and suppliers from around the globe are obviously pursuing this philosophy as well, because well over 750 exhibitors have already made firm booking for the 28th MOTEK, and will occupy more than 538,000 square feet of overall exhibition floor space. Industry-Relevant Information
According to Rainer Bachert, longstanding MOTEK project manager, the leading trade fair for handling and assembly technology will occupy pavilions 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 this year, i.e. an entire row of the two-part exhibition centre in Stuttgart. Current focal points include the new theme parks for “Mechatronics” and “Microsystems Technology”, which will above all be accompanied by various research facilities, universities and networks, for example the Mechatronics Competence Network BW e.V. And MOTEK is very well equipped to meet the great demands of exhibitors and expert visitors from the industrial countries and newly industrialised nations, even in the difficult year 2009, by means of “Training/Science”, the well known MOTEK technical seminars, the exhibitor forum, the congress entitled “Looking to the Future” and last but not least support provided by the Stuttgart Economic Region.
