28th MOTEK Expects More than 900 Exhibitors   Motek 09 PI 03 internet_engl.doc (58.5 KB)

28th MOTEK Expects More than 900 Exhibitors

The 28th MOTEK is taking shape and will present offerings including technologies, products and system solutions from more than 900 exhibitors in halls 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. Theme parks will additionally supplement the information and communication portfolio.

The 28th MOTEK international trade fair for handling and assembly technology, which will again take place at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre from 21 through 24 September 2009, is casting a highly positive shadow in advance more than four months before the event opens its doors. Project manager Rainer Bachert and his team are already convinced that the 28th MOTEK will be a great and lasting success despite the continued difficult economic situation of most of the customers: “Never before have we been able to announce such strong exhibitor numbers so early, and it’s very encouraging for us to note that a great majority of the old exhibitors are sticking it out, so to speak, and that growing interest is being registered from foreign countries near and far. For this reason, we’ve revised our originally somewhat reserved floor space planning for the trade fair halls at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre, which resulted from the economic slump, and have planned to fully occupy halls 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9”, sums up Rainer Bachert.

MOTEK Fully Occupies a Full Row of Halls: Halls 1 through 9

In order to make the 28th MOTEK even more interesting, and thus more promising than ever for international exhibitors and visitors, which is intended to build confidence in our currently difficult times, information offerings will be expanded to include additional presentation and communication platforms. These will take the form of so-called theme parks which, much like the highly successful special show at the “Communal Booth for Understanding Mechatronics” that has already been held several times, will deal with extremely interesting, absolutely future-oriented issues such as “Microsystems Technology” and “Mechatronics”, as well as “Training and Research” and “Looking to the Future”. Distinguished, highly competent partners have been recruited for the new theme parks, who will function as conceptual sponsors as well as technical advisors. They include, for example, the Stuttgart IPA Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation, who will make a significant contribution by addressing a group of topics dealing with “rapid manufacturing” as a special show with inter-divisional function.

Interdisciplinary Information and Communication Offerings

And the above mentioned theme parks are distinguished by renowned co-organisers and participants as well. 27 universities, institutions and companies have already registered for the “Mechatronics” theme park, and roughly 50 potential participants are currently interested in the innovative “Microsystems Technology” theme park, who also come from the fields of research and training, as well as from companies and institutes. Looking forward is the maxim which prevails for all of these offerings, and the 28th MOTEK international trade fair for handling and assembly technology will take place sat the right time with its offerings covering components, assemblies, subsystems and complete solutions for production and assembly automation. After all, the pundits are interpreting the current signs as an indication that a slight upturn in production activity can be expected to begin no later than September, and that those companies will then be at the leading edge who have not slackened off in their efforts to achieve greater productivity and efficiency in manufacturing and assembly.
