Record Breaking MOTEK 2008 Presents an Abundance of New Products and Technical Highlights Exhibitors are announcing a remarkable number of new products, further developments and technical highlights for MOTEK 2008, which will open its doors on the 22nd of September at the new Stuttgart Exhibition Centre with roughly 1200 exhibitors. A total of 188 entries are included in the promoter’s list of new products, including a world’s first and a patented product to be introduced for the first time at the event. The spectrum of new products which will be exhibited at the exhibitors’ booths encompasses the entire range of topics covered by the international trade fair for handling and assembly technology. In order to provide you with an initial impression, a few of them are spotlighted here: Hans Turck GmbH & Co. (pavilion 6, booth 6501) will celebrate a world’s first with its “Banner M25U” – a fully encapsulated, solid metal ultrasonic barrier detector made of stainless steel for aseptic applications. The first DEUTSCH plug connector with integrated LED and safety circuit has also been announced as a world’s first by Peters Indu-Produkt GmbH (pavilion 6, booth 6433). The SKP-300 system manufactured by Hammer Automationstechnik (pavilion 1, booth 1009) is a patented product which will be introduced for the first time at the trade fair, and is used for feeding fasteners and assembly parts made of various materials in defined quantities. Further new products featured at MOTEK 2008 range from a new type of control software for packaging systems (ABG-PACKMAT GmbH, pavilion 1, booth 1635) and innovative gearbox technology for a great variety of applications (Baumeister GmbH, pavilion 9, booth 9005), right on up to 3D-4-Robots from Fraunhofer IPA (pavilion 7, booth 7525), a system for automated gripping of entirely unordered parts by means of a robot – within this context, the so-called IPA Robot Hand III (a flexible 3-finger gripper with rapid, automatic adaptation to various parts) is a real eye-catcher. J. Schmalz GmbH (pavilion 1, booth 1020) will present a special gripper for solar applications for reliable, damage-free wafer handling. The device for hot caulking with laser has its finger on the pulse of handling technology as well, and provides a new technique for mounting PCBs in plastic housings presented by LPKF Laser & Elektronics AG (pavilion1, booth 1132). All of these are just a few examples of the numerous new products which will be exhibited at MOTEK 2008.
Regardless of individual focuses of interest, expert visitors will be awaited by a trade fair programme which is jam packed with innovations at MOTEK 2008.
